Well after speaking with dandelion killers over the phone before their intimate gig up in my venue in stoke I was very happy with the bands attitude so I did everything possible to make sure these lot were happy. Unusual for a sound guy to care but you know I do sometimes.
Their music instantly grabbed my live , really catchy riffs with simple but effective lyrics which enable the listener to relate to and often manipulate. You wouldnt think that the lead singer was actually the lead singer , quite a quiet humble character but on stage his emotion and character is quite immense to be fair. All in all I do believe that them teaming up with forgotten sleep is offering a lot to gigs as they are definately crowd works despite the lack of people in blu , *(can someone do something about this at some point) and also the shite gear thats in there. I really enjoyed them.
Demask - Well I believe myself and the father have had past difficulties as mr rastin would put it but myself being a form of pro engineer now I put that aside, Their songs were quite admirable for a young band and their presence on stage was good , but still commands a lot to be desired. If im not mistaken a young drummer, I have to mention that if double bass is going to be used it needs to be perfected before as kick drums out of time are a bad thing.
Apart from that I was please with their performance though I do think that a little less whinney vocal style and more actualy lyrical singing would top this band off.
Oh and to the person related to the band if you wish the vocals to be heard you need to stand somewhere in relation to the actual speaker? As they are a short throw box with narrow dispersion to enable to from encoutering feedback issues. If you have a complaint about the sound please address it to the tight wallet of the club and remember that im doing the best I can with what I have and to not look down on me like a piece of shit THANK YOU.
Now to Sarah and Daniel Johnson, : sarah being a regular blu addict and daniel well im not actual sure what daniel is doing now but either way their covers are remarkably good considering the state of the tribute acts, their own song went well but I do think less screaming from daniel as in an acoustic set it really doesnt hugely go down to well and sarahs voice which is good needs to be heard a lot more and used, Other than that I havent got a huge amount to say as I dont really now the genre too well.
