Not as much a review as an OH MY GOD THAT WAS FUN WHAT? Had a fucking excellent time with our Bad Egg stall, managed to piss off half of the room with our insanely low prices and general disregard for business and actually managed to see some bands in the process.
Godflesh were outstanding, even with what I thought was a very quiet PA setup, Napalm Death amazed everyone with a performance that showed grindcore doesn't have to just be about un-directed violence, Melt-banana were one long grin-inducing dance fest, Stinky Wizzleteat proved you don't have to be signed to Southern to make a room shake, Gnaw scared the shit out of me, Master Musicians of Bukkake created the most impressive wasteland ambience and best showmanship I've ever seen and Swans were just very angry old men with no regard for future generation's hearing or general mental health. IT WAS FUN.
Good to see Mark too - hope you enjoyed Saturday mate. Shame we couldn't have hung out a bit but I was too busy making all of the monies.
Whales fans at the festival managed to start a rumour that there was a super-secret Whales show on the Sunday that was "..louder than war" and the "...highlight of the fetival, mad propz to capsule for putting them on". Finally twitter is used for literary terrorism. HAHA!........whales=total dickbus......
my review to follow later. though i was only there for the day it was an absolute treat. i was saying by about 7pm that i was satisfied already, everything else was just topping up. I remember reeling away from godflesh with an ear to ear grin and spotting you then!
completely reminded and convinced about the joy of this special festival, worried it's going to stay on my annual list of must get to events!
