Last night I broadcast my 3hr Mixtape of my favourite Welsh sounds of 2010. The show is available on iPlayer until 9th January. I hope you enjoy it & get introduced to at least one great band / artist you hadn't heard of before. http://www.bbc.co.uk...ton_26_12_2010/ There are no links in the show to maximise the amount of music I could fit in. A playlist will be posted on the BBC Wales Music blogs before the end of the week. Well, as soon as I write it up. Could take a while! Any new recordings should be mailed to: themysterytour@gmail.com I'd love to hear about any new bands / recordings you've heard / made. Have an excellent 2011. Thanks for the spam space.

Nice one Adam, one hour 50 in and Klaus Kinski have entered my being... must get hold of that new album... and who do you think is the best band of 2010... (only joking..!! - see anon mouse thread..!) David Mysterious sounds good too (I guess that fine cheese grate voice was his - the fine bit on the cheese grater that you never use, but I guess that's what cheese would sound like if it could sing had it gone through that bit...) - must get DMs LP too... was it on Peski?

Hi Neil,
There's no David Mysterious in there, mate. But his album apparently came out on Peski. Didn't see any finished copies. I thought it was okay, but it's a compilation of stuff recorded aeons ago. He's not even going as a creative entity any more so didn't really count for this show.
I don't think there's any such thing as a best band of the year. Different sounds for different moods / different environments. Bands of the Year and all that bollocks are for Q Magazine, no? Right, I'm going to get me some choccie orange. You well Crud?

Ha! Just read the Anonie Mouse thread. I'd say the fact that all those bands mentioned released albums is a major step forward for North Wales. Anything else is about personal taste isn't it. Klaus Kinski, Global Parasite, Bastions (incoming), Joy Formidable (incoming), Cyrion, Warm Data, Y Niwl, Gallops all released music that amazed someone or other in 2010. That's excellent news for the area, and hopefully inspirational to whoever is coming through. It was a very good year.

Nice one - yeah I'm doing fine - v.busy - have a backlog of reviews to do, some dating back to summer... (one day maybe) - not picked up on Cyrion or Warm Data, will check 'em out... Have had a copy of Inferno's LP..? That sounds pretty impressive and a side step and upwards from their previous material IMHO (I learnt that abbrev 2day!!). Many / any sessions planned in the coming weeks?
