XO is a brilliant album, probably his best, but the posthumous one From a Basement on the Hill is awesome aswell, a bit heavier and a bit weirder. All of Elliott Smiths albums are ace though, just waiting for some kind of Nick Drake post- death revival, which could be a good or bad thing....

Basement on the Hill has some amazing songs (Twilight, Fond Farewell, Don't Go Down in particular) but I'd say XO just about takes it. Figure 8 is good too.

Fond Farewell is one of the greatest songs ever written, brilliant guitar playing. Yeah Figure 8 is awesome aswell, especially Happiness (which is his greatest song imo) and LA. If you haven't already, you should download the outtakes from Basement on the Hill, some awesome songs that didn't make the album for some reason.

Yep one step ahead of you Also, 'New Moon' the compilation album they released of all his various B-sides is amazing. 'Riot Coming', 'Going Nowhere' and 'New Monkey' are all good enough to be on any album. 'LA' is fantastic. Nice to meet another Elliott Smith fan
