I too had a lot of fun reading this, me an Anna had a giggle reading this in our pre-marital home in Falmouth, the reason I moved here.
I chuckled at the supposed ex-goodfriend leaving an anonymous speech, brave, but since it wasn't Taff (someone else who's had shit on link2wales, anonymously), a still close friend despite my terribly mooching ways, I'll have to assume It's someone who's floor I've dossed on, as he was the only person Ive lived with.
As for realness, maybe charity or volunteer work would have a bigger Impact than music, action's do after all speak word's.
Now I'm going to go and slap my bitch and pimp my pride.

Good god! seeing as though i havent been on here in a while i thought i would contribute as i am interested in whats going on in the north wales music scene (even if ive been away too long).
reading all that has given me a headache, whatever happened to just playing music for a good laugh you know....
I feel ignorant that i have never hurd of anti-virus...can someone enliten me on this colwyn bay punk band..... Me computer has been broken for a while now so i have lost track of alot of things going on. I personally can find political punk abit too much at times to be honest, but i like what global parasite are doing, even if i dont agree with everything they say or even bloody understand what message there trying to get across! because i am not very clever when it comes to these things and i am not going to pretend i am (Gp, that is not a put down, i am just a bit dumb). They, well, Dave in particular has introduced me to some cracking bands in the 5 years he has been whacking on gigs at the dudley and surely this is a good thing his contribution to the north wales MUSIC (not just punk) scene should be recognised. why is everyone so angry on this website, lets just chill out shall we. I reckon im the laziest musician i know in the north wales scene (many of you wont know me) i barely do any gigs and maybe i should do more but i really have no idea where i am going with this sentence.....
The moral of the story is who cares whos a sell out and who isnt etc etc. i stop listening when i feel the band or singer or whatever isnt being true to themselves (fucking cheesey but you know it makes sense) like someone sed before, if you can feel that what people are doing is genuine then its a good feeling, and you can tell when some bands arent being true to themselves i.e. singing in an american accent when youve lived in old colwyn all yer life.
I am a funny one really because i love my punk yet i love classical music and brass band music too and play for the brass band that did the soundtrack to the film 'brassed off' grimethorpe. (i had to get that in somewhere, me mum is so proud!) when i leave college i am gonna have to charge money for playing music so i can live, but does this make me a sell out? i dunno hopefully not because i would hate to think the soul reason for people making music was to make money. i think if a band is that eger to want to get signed then i dont see why they couldnt. or dont see what the big appeal is.
Anyway. I thought id just chat complete and utter bollocks like a lot of people have on this thread, and hopefully i dont sound like too much of an idiot. When i was in Bankshot and when i have done a few gigs on my own, i really didnt care if 1 or 1000 people would be watching, music is a selfish thing you know, i think you have got to please yourselve and i would hate make people vegen or whatever, because thats not my style, but theres nothing wrong with that, its the beauty of personal taste.
I just wish we were stopped being sold a lifestyle, i dont want it, ill listen to what i want and i am fed up of being told Pulp fiction is a good film coz it isnt. And Rambo, what the hell was all that about.
lets all keep supporting the scene as little or as loads as you like.
Bye bye xxx

I want everyone who listens to my band to get a long fringe...
All jokes aside I wouldn't say the scene in North Wales is suffering. For the last 2 years I had been going to Blu pretty much every night and watched bands, socialised with friends and had a lot of fun.
Surely this is THE SCENE in North Wales... Seeing new bands for one, making new friends, and it was after watching bands play and cheering for them that I in turn wanted to be in a band in the first place.
Talent must surely attribute to population denisties (obviously there are anomalies) so to expect several BIG bands to come out of North Wales is unfair and also puts tremendous pressure on bands themselves. Often it all stems down to luck.
I enjoy being in the band I am in… It’s with my friends, we have a lot of fun. It’s quite offensive to hear people saying that we’re wasting our time. We are always looking for new places to play but when promoters ask for you to bring 30 people to a gig or you won’t get paid is asking a lot.
Like Joe says support it as much as you want. You'll probably get out of it as much as you put in!
LOL we’re big emo fags!!

A slightly blinkered view there Tom - "Surely This Is The Scene" - when will people learn that Rhyl is NOT the north Wales "scene" just part of it.
As far as band go, Anglesey has more bands per head of the population than Rhyl. These band perhaps travel further afield than most Rhyl bands. Inferno for example have gigged in Russia, Xms3 completed a short tour of the State and have been invited back later this year.
Please remember n.Wales goes as far as Wrexham and over to Holyhead and down to Barmouth.
To claim Rhyl is the be all and end all of the n.Wales scene is just another example of the small town mentality that stops many bands from actually growing both musically and geographically.
Sorry this rant isn't set to a hip hop beat But I'm too old to claim to be street Don't be fooled by my wrinkled mug I'm as gangers as you, yeah an aging thug.

No, I meant that the ethics of seeing new bands and making friends etc is the scene whether you do it in Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Wrexham etc
I used Rhyl as that is the 'scene' I am most involved with.

When are people going to realise that Rhyl IS the North Wales scene and not just part of it?
Iona and Alun played in the Lorne last month, thrashing their love ballad duettes and Galapagos played at a wedding in the Talardy. Come on let's rock and roll mother fuckers

the philosophy of nietzsche was used as nazi propaganda.
its all good reading a book, understanding its concept is another thing.
Every individual that resides in society is part of the same system, anarchists, satanists, fascists, christians, you, me, them etc
each bounce off the other to maintain its consistancy.
living your life by a philosophy only keeps you enslaved to the system. Personally, I dont think you (juz) have a complete understanding of it. Hey, I dont even have an understanding of what im into but I try and educate myself on a daily basis.
You put yourself outside the box and look in and have a great old laugh at how pathetic we are sharing our knowledge of what we "think" we understand.
the truth is, you have to learn about whats inside the box before you start emptying it. Or, as i see it ; you dont hunt for bears in the ocean.
if you have a complete understanding of what i am saying you will realise theres no need for a reply.
anyhow

As far as band go, Anglesey has more bands per head of the population than Rhyl. Is there some sort of band register im not aware of? Or is it possible that you just pulled that statistic out of your arse? I don't know how you manage it but every time you post you seem to turn into an even bigger prick. Well done.

Ok Gary and Sian, I won't get personal, although I could, but you are the least people to tell me to be a man, I maybe think this new world order theory that Gary has only recently started chasing could be a way to avoid responsibility, You know exactly what I mean! Good old Neech wasn't used as Nazi propagandha, Hitler just took his philosophy, which with everything can be used in different context's for either good or bad. It tell's you to break free from the slave mentality like thou shall worship the lord and the idea of a higher being and become your own god, it's the idea that God is dead or just isn't. Gary there is no real argument to what you said and I think I support the scene in my own way, with the hip hop and drum and bass night's with my "dwindling" supply of friends, I fully support the North Wales scene and band's youve been in, I think I can count the amount of skunkfish gig's I missed on only one hand. And every other band I support I support with positivity, but you have to understand if you force these opinion's down people's throats be prepared to back them up with answer's to argument's and when you quote DVD'S off the net and the bible be prepared for the backlash. As for your comment about myself wanting people to bum me , last time I was round your gaff, you and Gary sat intently asking me question's which suggest's you wanted my opinion. I did not offer it, it was requested, which is different to an internet forum where I like to rant and ramble any old way, cos isn't that the intentions of this particular part of the board anyway.

am staying out of this personal shit here lol but...
you seem to be confused with this internet thing in your argument Juz, information can be obtained using the internet this is the main reason some information is more well known these days (as in these theories u argue against) the internet is harder to control than TV, Radio etc, youtube and the like are places for people to upload videos, you can watch anything online from the latest blockbuster movie to a documentry on fly fishing to a horse fucking a fat lady's arse! Saying "its off the internet" is not a relevent issue in an argument against theories on the world we live in im afraid, im not saying i agree with these theories, im just pointing out something which is probably making most people cringe.

Yes, but just by saying something exist's doesn't make it true either, when the film It's all gone Pete Tong was released the film company made a load of mock website's for the character, who according to the film, was based on a true story. Now the internet is peppered with questions askingwhere frankie Wilde is, and who he's based on. This show's the ignorance brought forth from internet generation, And like in the blockbuster movie's you see on the cinema or on the internet as you so rightly put they used music to enhance the drama, watch anything by Alex Jones or most other conspiracy theory film's and this same effect is used, and to great effect as the this post, and certain local band's music is shown. I'm not saying it's impossible for this to exist I'm just saying that the internet can inform you about fly fishing but can also fill your head with a lot of shit. what I'm saying is back up your theory's with something you've discovered in the reality around you not what come's from a PC screen, the same goes for TV.
