Amazing..! And about time too that the mere mention of Der Bomber starts a flaming war..! The track is pretty damn good, as is Homespun's new 100 Nations (hear them both on CrudCast this weekend) - and Adam is right (almost), there is some good stuff emerging again from the area of late (Capguns are from CBay and 4Sticks from Prestatyn), but let's not let a coupla miles get in the way of BBC airplay. As for Welly, I was laughing out loud cos I think that of Martin all the time..! And as for Martin, you're bloody right about the mastering, but band also need to ensure they attend the actual mastering, as the twat doing it will need guidance as to how you want it to actually sound. Mastering is essential for CDs and web broadcasts. Only the Beeb and their £5m compressors can turn mud to water...

That's why I said "Rhyl-ish". See the ISH bit, you slapheaded CARTOON PENIS of a man, that means Rhyl and the BITS AROUND RHYL. From the lofty position in my ivory tower, all those places look the same, anyway. Like old punks. ;D

just for the record- the views or opinions expressed by 'welly' do not necessarily represent those of der bomber. however, reel big fish comparisons are surely the act of a 'fat bald knob' having listened to the track extensively since tuesday, i'd liken it to a john cooper clarke/dresden dolls/the strokes collaboration, but therein lies the beauty of the subjectivity of music, everyone's entitled to their opinion as long (as it doesn't conflict with mine) der bomber will be back in the studio in the next few weeks to record 'now this is a test' - a brand new unheard track and i fully expect nothing less than critical acclaim

fat bald knob again, blimey I'd better grow my hair Not sure about the JCC link,(get ready for the name drop) knowing him since 1978 when we used to do the pub circuit in Manchester, I'd say it's not nearly clever enough . But don't get me wrong I do like the track

Best spoken word album I ever bought. Not that I have many. The lyrics to the Der Bomber tune are great. Sing about what you know, and all that. They do it better than anyone I can think of. And the production and performances on the recording are excellent. Tight & creative. I think the guitar goes fairground bit in the middle is brilliant. I can't get over how much the band have improved. I'm not saying this to wind anyone up -- or just for the sake of disagreeing with you, Martin... but credit where credit is due: that's the best song that's come out of North Wales since Gintis tripped over music magic on their first demo. Actually, it's better. I hope that the usual apathy that greets any music that comes out of North East Wales doesn't stop the 'right' people from hearing it. Anyway, have a good weekend, y'all. And send me your fucking music: themysterytour@gmail.com

Adam, the day we both agree on everything will be a bad day indeed. As carlos der bomber quite rightly said "therein lies the beauty of the subjectivity of music" Personally the n.Wales band I can't stop listening to has to be Valleum and their new album The Rainbow Hours, but now I suppose I'll be accused of favouritism because I'm helping to promote the album

.... and as a post script .... if Der Bomber want to send me a copy of the track I'd be happy to play it on my show and expose their music to over 30 000 people world wide, as I have done for most of the bands from n.Wales. But hey, I'm still a bald fat knob/twat/dick don't you know!

Adam, I share your sentiments completely on that Der Bomber track, although I did slightly cringe when the words arctic and monkeys popped into my head over the vocal delivery, but I'm kinda guessing that Remo and his band of merry noise makers began about the same time and independently of the said band.
Martin, I share your sentiments completely on Valleum, lyrically twisted tabs of genius in every song on that album. I makes me want to travel to Anglesey with a bin sack of homegrown, knock on their door and announce I'm staying for a week.
My own little teaser at the moment is Denbigh's Streams - there seems to be something very mature about their songwriting (tho' I've only heard 4 so far) - and that We Like To Fight is continually bouncing around my head... Could be contender for song of 2008 along with Der Bomber's, Homespun's 100 Nations and Valleum's Pigeons. Looks like its gonna be a great year for local music...

The Streams songs are all excellent -- those I've heard. Very polished, but very good. Some fucking ace guitar on 'em. They sound like they could be very big indeed. I'll be playing one of the new demos songs on the show on Sunday night. Isn't this lovely? Just like the old days. Do an insult, will you, before we end up slapping on the Baby Oil.

Streams are helping launch a new venue in Denbigh this Tuesday (April 15) when they'll be playing live at the Kings Bar at the top of Vale Street. The Doormat Antics and Iris3 are also on the bill and the fun starts at about 8.30 pm. We're hoping for a good turnout because Denbigh has been a covers band-only town for years so it'd be great to have a venue there that allows bands to play their own material. www.freewebs.com/bloodandlipstickwww.myspace.com/kingsdenbigh
