I'm asking this question not only for myself but for the North Wales music scene in general.
Apart from Martin Green Dragon, who else is there?
Make yourselves known!

Yes it would be handy to know if there are any others out there, as I'm leaving these fair shores in a couple of months. Although if anybody wants to work under the Green Dragon name in the UK, I'm willing to help the right person.
(as a side note - Anybody interested in taking on my CD duplication & printing business in the UK? Investment 5K - includes equipment, training and all referrals)

Ha ha - managing bands is a shit game. Mainly cos you're managing people, you end up being their babysitter, dad and roadie. Maybe your question should be rephrased to 'Are there any promoters?' - Although you find managers do that as well. North Wales has always been pretty sparse on the managerial front. There was a guy called Bob Kelly from Prestatyn who'd stick his oar in during the early 90s. I looked after Pocket Venus in 2002/03 - had a lot of fun, did ok and lost a lot of money. Paul Scouse up until recently looked after Sleeping With The Fishes and also did ok before releasing them onto the next level, which is when 'proper' managers need to take over; those without day jobs who can spend their time in London sharing cocaine habits etc. The industry is changing so much now that a band needs a good promoter as much as a manager - CDs don't sell (unless you're a rapper) and the money comes from gigs. I've banged the 'get gigging' drum for years and now it seems it has come true; any band with potential now need a van and a sat nav to make an impression in this world, it has to be done the hard way, unless you've got the X-Factor. Do record companies exist anymore? Or is it all pluggers? Perhaps the way forward is befriend a radio DJ (a decent one) so they play your stuff... yes yes - I'm waffling.. just come back from V and off to Blackpool now - summer's nearly over I'll start reviewing and shit again soon....

be your own fuckin manager. DIY it all. I (without blowing my own trumpet) for example can now easily book a full UK tour no problem, and probably europe, just from learning, networking, speaking to people. Ive just come back of a tour i booked all on my own and NOTHING went wrong. It aint fuckin rocket science people, fuck managers. For example, the Inner Terrestrials dont have managers and they LIVE on the road, they're not on a big label, don't have fancy managers and most won't have heard of them unless your into the underground uk/europe punk scene.
Ahh, i dunno, just all that shit makes me personally wonder

That strategy works perfectly well for a host of DIY artists, many of whom are not motivated by money, or just play for the buzz.
It doesn't work so well for artists who have other commitments such as dependent family members or those who are not part of an obvious scene or musical genre. Some musicians work in day jobs and simply don't have enough time to organise tours. Other musicians may want to generate an income from their music, or go self employed.
Very often organising a band is a big enough chore without the added hassle of managing an ongoing business. Some musicians do not have time to devote every waking second to their chosen band or project and may need to employ someone to step in.
It all depends on what you want to do in music.
I would assume that if a band is fulfilling a commercial niche, then a potential manager would stand to make a sufficient amount of money from their earnings in return for handling things. Seems fairly simple. Given that there are commercially successful artists from North Wales who obviously have managers, I wonder where they are all hiding.
One things for sure - they don't use the message boards on link2wales.
