When I was in 4Q, we nicked a £200 microphone off Anhrefn (we thought it belonged to the venue), and Ann Matthews of The Fflaps phoned me the next morning, not accusing me of stealing, just politely asking, 'Neil, can you return the microphone please.' When we started the band I was nominated guitarist; 'But I don't have a guitar.' I explained, and Edi (our singer) went out and came back half an hour later with a guitar from someone's flat in the Bay and told me to spray it beyond recognition. We played some Welsh Language Festival and our drummer Paul Puke nicked Cyrff's brand new snare drum cos the drummer kept bragging about it. Oh, and I nicked a guitar tuner off the Soup Dragons...
I'd almost like to say the Gary stealing a guitar from Speakers thing was true just for the drama of us getting banned sounding cooler (due to this thread starting) but it's not true whatsoever, nevermind! Just another venue added to a growing (although short) list of ones we can't play locally, it's almost getting like 4Q and we aint even trying!
I've had nothing but gear stolen off me, from Mics to drum stools. Stolen plently from shops, ranging from walking sticks to Mars bars, i'm too much of a fanny these days to bother.
"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
