Strange how things go in circles.
That review originally went out just as I moved away to Kent in 2005. I moved back 3 months ago and there it is again. It's like I've never been away. That was also my last gig in the Bangor area - I haven't played there since (not through choice I should add)
I don't know if anyone remembers that evening, but it was certainly eventful. I was there when an extremely drunken Der Bomber came dangerously close to blows with the security and the events managers. They were eventually barred from Pigstock, who really didn't want to take a chance on them barking expletives at the pigstock audience.
I also remember meeting Der Bomber in the room where you keep your gear. They said 'Eeee look it's fookin' Hank Marvin!'. There is a video of me playing at the gig and you can just about hear Der Bomber chanting 'You're shit! And you know you are!'. Charming bunch of lads, although I did quite like the music.
Lantern took some serious abuse that day from the Der Bomber camp. That's a shame not least because they own all the video footage of the gig (I doubt they will put it online). I don't think the link2wales forum has ever been so full of posts since that gig.
Bizarre gig that one.

They lost their legend last party in the park when they got gobby in the hip hop tent, they went pale when the whole crew putting on performing turned round to see what these cheeky chaps were saying about there beloved scene. I bet they were badmen in front of a lovely bunch of lads like Lantern, but the handfull we had their that day was a cross section of the criminal elements of North Wales.
Good day though.
