I agree, the 'scene' is in a very bad way.
It doesn't help that anything remotely positive is immediately slagged off and rubbished on forums like this. Even the crap bands are giving up now.
North Wales may still crawl out of the toilet bowl. Time will tell. When the nay-sayers have finally killed off the forums, maybe someone will feel like coming back.
Neil Crud & MWJ deserve thanks for keeping things going under very bad circumstances.

things really aren't that bad, there's lots going on, lot of fun to be had. again, people like to extrapolate their own misery onto the rest of us. poor them.

I like Plobal Garasite. I think they're cheeky, cheeky boys. I think Gok Wan's given them all a makeover, they look well fit, especially that Dave Cox...I'd love to ram one up his council gritter!!!!

Has anyone considered that it's not just dead in North Wales?
Welcome to the UK music scene 2010. Wherever you are.
Well done to anyone battling against it.

well boo hoo the 'scene' is dead, north wales is shit there is nothing goin on havnt we got it bad eh? bored. theres a gig on at The Royal in Colwyn Bay on Wednesday June 16th. Bands from Holland, Colchester, Bury St Edmunds, Manchester, Swindon and a local band will be converging to your local area, to play to you. These gigs are still going strong. But if you dont ever attend any of them you deserve nothing more than to sit in your chair at home... and cry! Now shut the fuck up an do somethin about it rather than whingin.

Theres a an old saying that go's - In the long term the pessimists are probably proved right but in the meantime the optomist will have more fun, if things are that bad then get pro-active not mard arse and go and organise something. Big ups to those who still try out there. Rich.

As mentioned earlier the problem we have in N.Wales isn't entirely local. I spend a lot of time in Birmingham and although great promoters like Capsule are putting on tons of great gigs they're mostly filled up with bands from elsewhere - and a lot from the states. Talking to local guys over there they moan about the same things we do - predominantly closed venues.
I guess one of the biggest driving forces behind a scene growing cold is a lack of places to play/see bands play on a regular basis that doesn't involve a massive hike.
Great spiel though, reminded me of Atilla the Stockbroker
