This is a severe blow for the bands in Rhyl...
Apparently Vegas is doing gigs on Sunday nights...

Yeah, but the writing's been on the wall for a while. When I was asked where Radio One could host that fringe gig you played this week in Colwyn Bay - there was nowhere suitable in town - except the Morville, but why give them the publicity when they don;t support music normally. Rhyl is a strange beast and goes through phases like this. I was taking to Rhys from Anhrefn last night and we recalled that when The Scraps, Fflaps and 4Q played in the Bee in Rhyl in 1987, the venue was packed out, but full of people from Bangor and Colwyn Bay - I think Steve Rastin was the only Rhyl-ite there. And 20-odd years later at the Dudley - those crazy punk gigs have always been well attended, but hardly a local in sight.... Viva Vegas..!!!
