Im not sure really. Im sure it was shut down or something because of some illegal goings on, the last gig i went to there was a one off punk aldayer about 2 years ago organised by d&b promotions. The place looks like its virtually derelict now, not sure if its used for anything at all now, but that only adds to the character. Its a good venue though, a small stage about 1m off a dancefloor that turns nicely into an ice-rink once a few pints have been split providing hilarious entertainment for those too lazy to dance. Not sure about an in-house pa, etc but the sound was always great.

I had discussions with Fountains last summer but they weren't particularly enthusiastic. To be honest, after the debacle at the Townhouse I've no real faith in Llandudno town centre as the hotel owners start squealing if you fart too loudly so the West Shore sounds a better long term bet.

a venue i always thought was fantastic was the speakeasy lounge bar (i may have the name wrong) under the imperial hotel (i think!!), there used to be jazz nights in there on sundays, unsure if thats still the case, but the place is wicked, all zebra print couches and warhol-esq artwork and a bar thats kinda gig long glowing neon blue light...a crazy place for acid i tell ya!! generally yes...Llandudno is a big pile of wank and other than the fantastic Penrhyn Old Hall and West Shore Social Club, which are both outta town, there is nowt!

I actually gatecrashed the stage at the Speakeasy and sang God Save The Queen when some puffy band started playing it. They used to do Monday 'alternative' nights there (back in the day) - but the DJ was a total nob-fuck and alternative meant Sisters of Mercy (if you were lucky)
