I heard some really good news about a couple of bands from North Wales - I was all geared up to tell someone and came here to post something.
Then I remembered that all music mentioned on this forum gets slagged off by a bunch of anonymous miserable hate-filled bastards.
If the scene is dying, then you can thank the hate-mailers and trolls for applauding when the life-support machine got turned off.

Well you can look at it like this... There are some exciting new bands up and coming in the area - Bright Young People are sounding excellent as are Kixxstart Kitty, and let's just say they go all the way... The NME will say how fucking great this new band are until they hit the top, then they will slag them off. We create idols and heroes to knock them down again. It seems to be in our nature. The hate-mailers and trolls are there because it's easy to hide behind the keyboard and it is only a form of pitiful envy and jealously by those not man enough to stand up, be counted and say such and such band is shite or so and so is a wanker. If I feel the same about a band or person (and I do) I tend to ignore them - why give someone or band publicity if you feel they're not worthy, or a wanker? So those that slag off bands on this board are doing them a favour - ALL PUBLICITY IS GOOD PUBLICITY... Remember all the shite Der Bomber used to get (ahh those were the days) - all sorts of trolls knocking 'em down, but it was great publicity for them. Global Parasite are always getting a kicking on this forum - where are they now? Waiting for the life support to be switched off? Or just home from a UK tour? Yes, some bands did make a rope for their own necks; Homespun were forever on here threatening to slap people, but in a way, however dickheaded it seemed, it was quite refreshing for someone to really physically threaten someone rather than anonymously wish cancer upon people and their families. This Forum has taken a dive recently and mainly because trends are changing - people are seeing Facebook as a medium of communication - the only problem with that is, they'll eventually realise that so much traffic and spam travels thru FB that announcements and events get lost in the quagmire of other irrelevant shite from 'Friends' in Bolton or Hull or Germany etc. Which is why this Forum is important to local bands - so use it..!!!

Wise words Mr Crud - if any bands going to survive in the long term they have to be able to cope with being called shit by some people, any band has people who love and people who hate - it goes with the territory like any artform, any publicity IS good publicity and its often the charachter of a band thats as attractive to people as there music so go ahead and spread your good news Mr Viking.

One mans shit is another mans caviar so to speak....I think on the whole there's some fukkin fab stuff out there...the bands have just gotta ride these hard times man, the audiences will be back I'm sure...The trolls and stuff on here actually can be quite funny, and I'm sure most of the bands dont give a shit anyway. As bigrich says, ANY publicity is good publicity.
