Jesus Christ! 100 pissed-up festival punks in your back yard for 3 days. Good luck Dave!
Seriously though...
Hendre Hall used to let the hippies camp, back in the days of Snogfest - but that's a bit of a way from Rhyl - you'd have to hire it too. Malcolm's hosted some truly strange evenings at Hendre (like booking Skinflick to play on the same night as a wedding reception or something). There's a long waiting list though...
Hmm...
Other than that I don't know.

Squatting at Rhyl Events Arena? The place gets used for bugger all else!!! On a more serious note, if roughing it isn't a problem you get a lot of people just pitching up tents on The Cob in Rhyl during the warm weather. Ok, there's no facilities as such but it's free and within walking distance of the Dudley.

is the cob just a field or what? it'd be brilliant, im just wondering about whether it'd be safe to leave the tents there with all the rhyl scallies free to rummage through people's belongings...
or would we have to re-pitch the tents every night, an leave them in a backroom at the dudley during the day, people will be very drunk, i cant see many tents being very well pitched an all that, fuck it though it'll be a laugh. where is it?

It's an area of common land that runs along the river on the Rhyl side by the blue bridge. It's meant to be a nature reserve but most of the mating rituals observed there are human ones!!!

Rhyl is so backwards that Dave Cox can wee everywhere and it's a major event - someone should have a word with the local council and get him a solo arena gig. It could be the start Dave's 'piss-art' world tour.

The Events Arena on the Promenade is one of the funniest things that has ever happened to Rhyl. Back in the days when the Radio 1 Roadshow came to town, the powers-that-be in the town decided that it would be a great idea to have a purpose-built facility for Dave Lee Travesty and his cronies and so the Events Arena was built. Unfortunately, as the day of the grand opening drew near, Radio 1 rather spoiled things by announcing that it was no longer putting on its annual Roadshows. Undeterred, the great and the good from the town gathered on the day of the unveiling only for somebody to prematurely detonate the fireworks display, resulting in several injuries and plenty of adverse publicity in the News Of The World. Disastrous enough already? Not really, because we're talking about Rhyl here!!! Those of us who've actually put on events pointed out to our supposed superiors that the acoustic wall has been located on the wrong side of the facility, meaning that sound is projected into the town rather than out to sea. Net result? Nothing louder than line dancing can be put on there, with the effect that nobody ever uses the place. As a bit of a comedic postscript to this, the town has now proudly unveiled its new £3.4 million Drift Park developement at the other end of the promenade. One feature within the Park is an outdoor theatre and guess where they've put the acoustic wall? Yup, you've got it in one!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck the Cob!! It's too far away from the Dudley!! Simply put tarporlin up either side of the 'archway' outside The Dudley, and use it as an illegal squat for the night. Even the pigs wouldn't notice that! The arch has been used as a rehersal/dressing room at the Dirty Weekend before, why not make it more private.

I've been thinking about that a lot.
Dave - Are you sure the 'powers that be' won' t put a top to the whole thing?

The Dirty Weekend is attended by over 18s - most being over 30..! So plod has no grounds to stop the event - no neighbours to complain about the noise, so the council can't intervene. Although urinating in public is an offence,,,,!!!!!
