Indeed - Prog Rock aplenty! Good stuff. You wouldn't be a fan of King Crimson and Voivod perchance? (When you get time off from ice skating through a 2 hour drum solo) They say if you take your year of birth and add 14 you'll find the era of music you like best, mines 1973 when prog was king. So to answer your question yes was/am a big fan of the Crimson but never really got into Voivod. Heard a fair bit of Porcupine Tree (circa 2004) which is quite good too.

fuckin hell mines way out then cus its all over the place haha! but prog....I had shivers down mine spine when i saw Children Of Men and "in the court of the Crimson King" blasted through that rich guys stereo and then saw the floating pig out of the window in the same scene in homage to Pink Floyd's Animals context...genius....but any other prog can go fucking do one, ive tried the likes of Yes and what not only to find myself hearing nothing but pretencious shite designed to please only the keyboard tinkler, fret wankers and middle-class geriatrics!
Good Clean Fun - Positivly Positive (199-summin - 2000 and summin) The Pixies - Trompe Le Monde Vibronics - Heavyweight Scoops Selection Chapter II

That means my perfect era is 1987. Missed 'Patton-era' Faith No More by one year. Come to think of it, Ministry still hadn't released Psalm 69. At least grindcore had started by then. And I still have a fondness for 'proper' thrash metal I suppose.
