(review by Digisound)
Well to kick off the review we will start with the Wicksters live set : Ive heard chris dj many times and despite the ribbing he gets in work for being into his DJ'ing he is very fucking good. A smooth start with Jamiroquai's little l leading into blue monday , and then onto various mixes using prodigy , happy mondays left the old school and the new school people amazed at something different being in blu. As the cheers for him went up I started prepping for Glyn Bailey's acoustic set.
Now where do I start with him , great well mannered musician , very helpful and someone new age musicians should base their standards upon. His music in my eyes was very good despite being more aimed at the older generations who tend to appreciate musical talent a lot more than this screamo bull crap we get nowadays. If you couldnt tell his influences included bowie then you need to stop drinking. Amazing set and we hope to get Glyn back up into sheep land more often.
With Hindsight 9band name not my rambles again). Again another helpful band , not much to say about them apart from good choice of covers and for a young band there doing ok. Their timing seemed to be slightly out on occasion but thats something that will come with experience.
Ten Second Rule : Well I've never met a more anxious singer yet. But to be fair thats always a good thing because it normaly means they arent to egotistical. I really liked their music , the tightness of the band. They complained about the monitors and my reply was that a) its a pub and b) you werent stood any where near them so apologies that I couldnt solve that. Other than that they are a good band and a good crowd pleaser as well. Much liked by myself.
Well thats it for now, I would like to thank all the above bands and also Steve Rastin for his usual level of commitment that leaves him with a high pitched voice at the end of the night.
