Nine months since my initial post and i've now seen a plethora of local bands. General conclusion, The Upstarts and Der bomber about the best for me. Upstarts good tight band but need to move on i now know their set probably better than them. Der Bomber, possibly the only North Wales band with personality. Though all local bands could learn some stage craft from the Jalapenos. OK they do a three chord trick, but they also put on a show and get the place rockin. local bands should have a night off go and watch them and learn about stage craft from the jalapenos it's not all about standing there wanting to be adored by your potential girlfriend.
As far as I know the Colwyn Bay Clubhouse (it's a good venue BTW), have bands playing there fairly regularly and the bloke who organises it is called lloydy, trouble is they don't seem to advertise very well on their football club website, I've seen a couple of bands there but I've also missed a few as well coz i didn't know they were on. if anyone here can give info about gigs at colwyn bay clubhouse it would be good coz it's a nice venue.
