It has been rumoured that the government plans to introduce sound/noise control equipment in all clubs and venues, which will lead to all your nights out being at a level that is quiet enough to talk over!! if this happens it will basically put an end to music venues sign this petition before 23 jan to try to stop it, please!!!! petitions.number10.gov.uk/NoNoiseControl/please forward this to everyone!

Haven't they already got this? Most of the venues in Kent have a meter which knocks the power off if it reaches a certain level.
Don't tell me they've lowered it again?! It's already stupidly low.

There is in place one set of rules which didnt apply to the entertainment sector until last year which is the noise at work rules. They dictated 85db over 8 hours which to be fair is an acceptable level if the noise is constant for 8 hours and you do not have a rest.
This new rule is just a joke , but if it does come into force it might actually make bands think about levels of backline and the limitations of gear.
I cant imagine the government would actually be able to enforce it though.
hmmm lets hope this along with 696 is sodded off.
