Quite shocked on 2 fronts - the basic fact he's dead, and that he's the same age as my Dad..! Wasn't really into The Cramps until my girlfriend at the time (Helen The Hair) dragged me to the Royal Court to see them in 1986. I was immediately converted, they played their new LP Date With Elvis almost in it's entirety to start with then ploughed thru the show stopping stompers for the 2nd half - Brilliant show - Lux was pretty incredible, like a pseudo Iggy Pop necking bottles of red wine, climbing the enormous PA, throwing a bottle at the bouncers who were kicking shit out of crowd surfers. Great show... I even later managed to get the gig on bootleg tape from Aladdin's Cave for £3, but unfortunately Helen swiped it from me...
RIP Lux, your pussy will always do the dog....

Even sadder for me was the loss of Ron Asheton of The Stooges last month - I finished my DJ set in Chester on Wednesday night with I Wanne Be Your Dog in tribute to the most influential punk guitarist of them all.
