Good job I'm not a betting man then isn't it -- yes it is 20k+ PER SHOW. That's world wide, not just in UK. In fact 60% of my audience are outside the UK, with 45% being from USA where podcasting is much bigger than here in UK. The beeb (expect shows such as AW) aren't interested in dirty unsigned artists. They play the occasional unknown artist to make us feel as if they're doing their bit to help the new bands, but at the end of the day it's money that talks. We shouldn't use the word unsigned anymore -- they are independently released bands/artists. 3 weeks ago we saw the first band NOT signed to a label to enter the UK singles charts (Koopa) who received most of their "air play" on podcasts, built a fan base via live performance, myspace and this exposure on podcasts. Main stream radio didn't play them once prior to them entering the chart. Main stream radio may still be the big boys but even they are taking notice of what us "bedroom DJs" are doing. What I'm trying to say is ... I don't want to work on radio, been there, done that, got bored. I'm one of the lucky podcasters who actually gets paid for what I do, I'm not getting mega rich off it, but I make a living which helps keep Tescos going. Transmitters? We don't need no stinking transmitters!! Take a look what else is on offer HERE/rant over

Excuse my ignarance bu...-How dya go about setting up/recording a pod-cast? Anychance of a quick guide or would you fill about 5 pages telling me! Sure, I'll put something up on here later if people are interested. For now go get yourself a copy of PodProducer (it's free) from www.podproducer.net/en/download.html ( PodProducer installer BETA v0.26) it's not as scary as it looks. I know some people use other software but honestly if you learn to use this the whole process is simple. More later.
