The pier is suprisingly a really good venue, the bar is cool as fuck and VERY cheap! It has massive potential. All it needs is a house PA with monitors and the place could definitly return the pier to former glory days.
Colwyn Bay has got to now be the best town in north wales for live music.
Our drummer Dave is leaving the other band he's in, Der Bomber (or staying with them until they finish recording or something, cant remember now). Ste and Matt are hopefully doing more with To The Nines (or a new version of it anyway) now that Ton from Instant Agony has told Instant Agony he's leaving at xmas due to personal commitments, but Global Parasite will always be our main priority, like a child we have loved and raised!
There will be more gigs planned and organised by us hopefully incorporating the dub/reggae/ska dj element into the nights more often.
Buy the Anti-Virus EP its just a little bit fucking good!
other Band stuff you probably already know but we're adhearing to captain cruds orders and puttin news in the correct area...arnt we nice well behaved punks
The white vinyl 7" split single of Smash The NWO is nearly out of stock. This includes some of the distro people who had them worldwide (see relevent blog on myspace) so if you want this before it disappears forever (and i mean forever as no more are ever going to be made) you need to get one now! This also goes for the T-shirts, although due to the fondness of the design we may do some more in small batches when we get the next design on the go (which will be way after the album's release...see below!)
Our album (which is going to be out around January 09 (-ish) and is yet untitled (wooooo). The recording of this is a slow process (due to heavy financial/time restrictions) but so far the songs are sounding wicked and we are chuffed to bits with what we have at the moment! We're gonna make this a fuckin epic if we can haha, it will be rammed with as many tracks as we can muster, some from when we first started out (inc' the odd re-record but shh dont tell anyone) but mainly new stuff, and some we never play live, to some we are still writing!
Our first EP Feed Us War is still availiable (probably eternally as its a cdr jobby).
The Investigate Seven Seven split album (3 tracks off each band) is taking its time to get together but its going to be good we do hope to have that ready for our tour, fingers very much crossed for that one though.
We're on a load of compilations too, two due to release and to be fair they look well good, check our page for that shit www.myspace.com/globalparasite
Were off on a rather patchy tour (started with mini-tours but has ended up being a bit of a random place summer jobby, starting with holland)
Once we are independently mobile i.e WHEN WE HAVE A VAN AND DRIVING LICENCE we'll make sure we annoy every town and city for sure!
EVENTS....
The first Dirty Weekend fundraiser will be at Speakers Corner on June the 7th bands so far, Anti-Virus, Deadlight Spiral and The SmackRats
The Dirty Weekend this year is looking to be fucking amazing to be frank, as most of you must be aware by now! With the likes of Discharge headlining and i believe there's some more suprises we are itching to tell you about but can't due to the old "tbc" shit haha. Dave's captain teamed up with the d&b lot so its promising to be better than ever, along with the rest of us doing our bit too of course. Get over to www.myspace.com/thedirtyweekend and add it so you can keep your hairy arses updated!
There's plenty of summer gigs that we are putting on locally in Speakers Corner in Colwyn Bay on the build up to this. Go to www.myspace.com/chewingcpromo to keep upto date with those. Awesome lineups too
