Hi all We're a new music venue just opened in Pontypridd named Bar Inc. We have a capacity of 200 (across 2 floors). Upstairs we have The Clef Room (opening Thu-28-Aug) with a lovely new stage. Downstairs we have a bar and dancefloor. We're open during the day as a relaxed coffee bar with some lovely lunchtime food - panini/sandwiches/wraps etc and at night as a bar / live music venue. We'll be open six nights a week (tues - sun) and to make the music as accessible as possible we're trying to make as many nights as we can free entry! Were looking for Bands/DJs/Acoustics to play aswell as anyone else looking for a venue - whether its anything from a fashion show to a seminar, from an art exhibition to an awards night please get in touch! My name is Rich and you can reach me here... Bar.Inc@hotmail.co.uk tel: 01443 679 483 www.myspace.com/BarIncPonty

"to make the music as accessible as possible we're trying to make as many nights as we can free entry!" does that translate as "the bands don't get paid"?
... love the name by the way ...any association with BarCo?
Do you have a free slot on Wednesday 24th September (with fee?) For a headline act?

Hi Green Dragon, I know we've had a chat so dont need me to reply to this, but just to everyone else.
We sort out the different nights with the bands - some will get paid be on a flyer deal, some will just want to use the opportunity to sell their own cds and merchandise.
Bar Inc is no relation to BarCo it is the name we took over when we came here, and its no relation to Bar Inc in Bridgend either which one person has asked about. We are independent from anyone else, but would be interesting in collaboration with other venues if such arrangements worked out.
For anyone who knows Pontypridd, its the old angharads, big triangular yellow building on the corner opposite the train station (now i've made it sound like a block of cheese!) but we've revamped the entire upstairs. I would tell you how, but i guess you'll have to come and see for yourselves!

Let's use this opportunity to network some bands from the Ponty area and swap gigs - maybe with Zu in Rhyl if it takes off....
