By David Waddington
TO CELEBRATE the upcoming Dirty Weekend at Hendre Hall in Tal Y Bont, a special punk episode of the NWP-Digital Podcast is out now.
Top acts from across the UK - as well as plenty of local talent - will be descending on North Wales for two days of adrenaline-fuelled mayhem.
15 bands will be keeping crowds moshing while a chillout area with DJ Locksley playing dub-ska and reggae will offer respite from the guitar
thrashing.
The Dirty Weekend 2008 will be held at The Hendre Hall in Tal Y Bont near Bangor on September 20.
Tickets are limited and are available from Cob Records in Bangor, Meredith's Alternatives in Llandudno, or online at www.myspace.com/thedirtyweekend
Offering a sample of what to expect, The Pioneer have teamed up with The Dirty Weekend to create a special edition of the NWP-Digital Podcast featuring some of the bands at the show.
Kicking off the episode is old-school punks Discharge with their track State Control State Violence.
Stopping off for the mini-festival during their European tour, this Stoke on Trent band offer a raw and biting slice of punk-perfection.
London based rockers The Inner Terrestrials bring a little early NOFX inspired music to the episode with Guns Of Brixton.
From the off-beat ska into the crunching chorus and double time-drumming, the diverse track is a testament to the southern band's quality.
Instant Agony from Birkenhead keep the energy going with Show Some
Respect before some solid, fast paced screamo-punk from Officer Down with It's Time We Were Liberated.
Finishing the episode is live track Religious Wars by Subhumans, giving you an authentic taste of what The Dirty Weekend has in store.
