Locally, Valleum are releasing a new album too. I think it's called "Insanity and Beyond". I got a video of them playing the title track at the Harp in Bangor a few weeks ago- uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JVI2FGS87tsI wasn't actually laying on my side filming this, just my mobile phone camera playing up again. Song sounds good though eh? Also Iris Gintis Deadlight Spiral (anyone know if they are?) Carpet (anyone know?) SONA!!

Carpet are putting down tracks for an album - god knows when..!! Deadlight Spiral are recording in Feb, I'll be filming them aswell. Gintis are just waiting on some trumpets to finish their 2nd LP. Think Stuntface are recording a new LP with new drummer Tinman. Thyrd Eye are recording right now.

2009 looks to be a good year for Leucine as well! We're sending our tracks away to be remixed as we aren't entirely happy with the sound we got... We should have our EP available for release by February. 3AC have a new EP as well and it's really good!! Keep an eye out

It's ok. The sound upstairs is pretty bad, this is only due to the nature of the room not the sound people, and the person "in charge" of the room aint quite got the right agendas for a punk scene, more like an embarressing, childish, ego nightmare. (Ooo did i speak truth goddamit i just did!) Not sure what happens bandwise downstairs these days but the landlord seems very open for things to happen there so defo approach him he'll probably sort you out he's a good guy.
Also, the lineup for the 10th is Stuntface, Comply or Die, Acid Drop, Carpet, Freaky Peach, its a birthday party, shame i'll be missing stuntface, but i'd rather run headfirst into a wall than attend this particular persons birthday party!!! Oooooo!

If there's one thing I'm looking forward to more than anything in 2009, it's moving back to Wales.
I've lived in Kent for nearly 4 years now and if I don't manage to escape in 2009 I will go insane and eat my own face. It's funny how you spend ages trying to escape your humble roots and when you finally go 'where the normal people live' it's just dissapointing.
The North Wales music scene may not be the centre of media attention, but it's a million times more interesting than Kent (with a few exceptions). The North Walian bands are more creative and who fucking cares if they never get played on Radio 1? Does anyone even listen to it anymore?
Edit: If Les Wilson, Bossk, Adrian Day or November Coming Fire (RIP) are reading this - No, you are not included in my summarisation of the Kent music scene. See also Bender Crack Corn (The world's mightiest skiffle/metal band).

A new album from Stuntface would be excellent, their last one was really good. The most eagerly anticipated release of 2009, for me, is a Global Parasite album. I would also like it to be pressed on a cool splatter vinyl and have a very limited press, maybe of 1 or 2?! Outside of Gogledd Cymru, I'm hoping that Sick Of It All keep up their record of releasing an album every 3 years as it would mean that one is due this year.
