I remember Fay Ray and The Ghostriders. I saw Dave from the Ghostriders a couple of weeks back. I'm trying to remember the female vocalist's name - she had another band that played at the Heights in Llanberis between 1998 and 2001.
Other Bangor bands from the early 80s...It's a bit patchy I'm afraid - I suspect Len from the Roadhouse blues band was probably gigging at that time. I know a few from the mid 80s -Darkside, Wenflam, Soriant,? (Caernarfon based metal bands).
Is there any specific information you're looking for?

Fay Ray – Bangor band (formed 1980) by ex Hot Water members, Sheila Brook McCartney (voc) (later, Turnstone, now Babel), Owen Hughes (drms), John Lovering (gtr), Jeff Taylor (sax), with Tony Travis (bass). Worked with Nigel Gray (producer for the Police) and rel a 1980 Surrey Sound single Family Affairs and a 1981 LP ‘Contact You’ (on WEA). Were staples of the Tuesday Night Rock Nite at Plas Coch. John Lovering, a guitarist who looked like Robert Fripp, was last seen as a college lecturer in Bristol. Jeff still lives in Menai Bridge. Sheila McCartney now does voice coaching and theatre stuff, occasionally works with MASE and has run a small ladies choir The Bluebelles since 1995. Lovering is now Professor at Cardiff Uni and one time advisor to the Clinton administration (Eastern Europe expert). Owen now runs Cob Records in Bangor Hot Water - a late seventies (77-79) Bangor band, played the usual local venues but memorably the Dyffryn Ogwen Festival in 1978. Double female lead vocalists Sheila McCartney (later Fay Wray, Babel) and Brenda Prescott backed by Ann Williams (keys), Owen Hughes (drms) (later Fay Wray), John Lovering (gtr) (later Fay Wray), Paul Stroud (bass) and Jeff Taylor (sax) (later Fay Wray). Caught the ear of John Peel and also gigged at Erics in L’pool. Rel 2 singles on Duff Recs, Different Morning and Get Lost. Also rel a cassette 'best of' feat out-takes from the Peel session and the DLT show. Babel – Bangor band (c2006), feat; Sheila Brook (voc) (ex Fay Wray, Turnstone), Gabrielle Gane (keys) (ex Serpents), Julie McGrail (bass), Sue Hewitt (drms). Turnstone - Bethesda band feat Sheila Brook (ex-Fay Wray, Hot Water, Ghostriders, now Babel) (voc), Rob Parry (ex-Ghostriders, 9 and a half) (gtr), Mark Thomas (ex-Inadeqates, Hot Water, Third Spain, Reinheitsgebot, Ghostriders, Megabats, Nathan Carpathian, Infinity Chimps) (drms), Humphrey Davies (Cane Toads, ex Chemistry Set, Songlines) (bass), and sometimes Benno Beokhe (cello) (when he's in the country). Rel LP Triangles and Squares on Lawrence Music

Yes - I played a gig with them about 10 years ago. They had a female singer and played sort of Alanis Morrissette type stuff if memory serves. They were pretty good - very slick.
I'm pretty sure they performed at the 'battle of the bands' in Llandudno when I was in This Thing. Junebug won, but there was another band that felt they should've got the prize. Someone got up on stage and threw a punch at the anouncer. There was a bit of a scuffle and people shouting 'LEAVE IT - IT'S NOT WORTH IT' etc
It was like a pub fight at a gig. Bizarre.

they were from pen, there's a bio under T on L2w, don't ya know. I much enjoyed them applying the lyrics to public enemy's Black steel in the hour of chaos to one of their tunes, and nige rats bass was humungously dub heavy. Niiiiiiiiice.
