In no particular order:
Mono - Walking Cloud And Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered And The Sun Shined Jeff Buckley - Grace Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning OR Lifted, I can't decide. Somehow I can't put them both in. ..And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Source Tags & Codes Elliott Smith - From A Basement On The Hill Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold, Dead Place Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream Four Tet - Rounds Sigur Ros - ( ) Super Furry Animals - Guerilla
I'm really not happy with this list. I find it really hard to list 10 albums that have defined my life so far, influenced me musically or albums that just plain rock my socks.

4. Closer - Joy Division. Forget about searching for clues about Ian Curtis' state of mind at the time of its' making and just enjoy this album's glacial majesty. 10. Raw Power - Stooges. Quite simply, the best album ever to come out of the USA. Sorry Steve, I'm gonna be a little shit now and say... Unknown Pleasures > Closer Fun House > Raw Power Hehe.

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Source Tags & Codes Elliott Smith - From A Basement On The Hill Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold, Dead Place In keeping with being a little shit... Madonna > Source Tages & Codes everything Elliott ever did > From A Basement On A Hill Those Who Tell The Truth.. > The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place Incidentally, keep an eye out for the double album of unreleased Elliott Smith material that's coming out in May. The Songs were released on the internet a fair while back by his family and were dubbed 'Basement II', even though the recordings are spread over his whole career. Some of the stuff is among Elliott's best work, including the song New Disaster, which is probably my favourite song of his.
