My unborn son seems to like the Dead Kennedys.
Or maybe he's just trying to put his fingers in his ears.
There's definitely something going on in there.

He has good taste - call him Jello...! Currently listening to AC/DC really loud and Stuntface really loud and digging White Lies' hub session last week on 6Music We are currently stuck for names. Sadly 'Jello' may be a bit too weird. Maybe I should run a competition on this forum, but given the fairly obscene level of humour apparent here I may get suggestions to call him 'cummi' or something. Maybe we should just call him 'Dave' - it works for 90% of the staff at Tesco in Bangor. Or maybe it doesn't.

Great tune that, never heard it before, the picture is from the sleeve of the Original Rockers LP on Greensleeves but it's not on that.Don't worry about the herb Joe,I've never smoked anything in my life & have about 500 reggae/dub/ska/rocksteady albums,I am partial to Red Stripe though.

It's a good listen that Augustus. Have you listened to Vibronics? Possibly a little more accessable to the non-hardcore dub fans but it's good stuff from the UK. Witnessed it through the Seqoiua Sound System in Sheffield a while ago, amazing.
This forum has become nice to use again.

I've got an Augustus Pablo LP somewhere in a forgotten shed - was there a track on it called 'Third Eye' or was that Mad Professor? As equally as good.. Best damn reggae LP I've got is that Peter Tosh one with African on it - can't recall the bleedin' name of it now... but must go n find that shed...!

Vibronics are good...just listening to em on youtube. have to stay i prefer the massive rumbling bass noise of pablo....im sure that melodica sample was him! Africans must be free.....by the year ear er 1983! by hugh mundell. augustus pablo sampled it on original rockers.... might have to be my favourite reggae song that. Now theres a tough top 10 chart!!!!!!

Neil, that Peter Tosh LP is Equal Rights. My favourite reggae LP is Misty In Roots Live At The Counter Eurovision 1979. Agreed Joe a reggae Top 10 would be pretty tough to compile as it'd change daily, might have a bash later, that Hugh Mundell track probably wouldn't be far off as it is a corker, shame he didn't get to record more prolificly before being shot during a row over a fridge!

A reggae Top 10 would be impossible simply because "reggae" as a term incorporates sounds as diverse as dub, lovers rock, dancehall and toasting - and that's without chucking in antecedents such as ska, bluebeat and rocksteady. Put it this way, "Handsworth Revolution" by Steel Pulse, which is my alltime favourite UK reggae album, wouldn't even make the Top 50 when judged against my favourite Jamaican releases. www.freewebs.com/redmambagigswww.myspace.com/redmambagigs
